KANAANI - MORE THAN JUST A MOVIE

The Department of Homeland Security defines Human trafficking as the the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. The state.gov website describes human trafficking as both a grave crime and a human rights abuse, human trafficking compromises national and economic security, undermines the rule of llaw, and harms the well-being of individuals and communities everywhere. It is a crime of exploitation; traffickers’ profit at the expense of their victims by compelling them to perform labor or to engage in commercial sex in every region of the United States and around the world. Researchers have estimated that between 15,000 to 50,000 women and children are forced into sexual slavery in the United States every year, and the total number varies wildly as it is very difficult to research. One study from the Department of Health and Human Services estimated the number between 240,000 and 325,000, while a report from the University of Pennsylvania put it at between 100,000 and 300,000. In a report that covers 148 countries and more than 95 per cent of the world’s population, the United Nations office on Drugs and crime states that Out of 4799 victims detected in 26 Sub-Saharan Africa countries, 3336 were in West Africa including 2553 children. UNODC data suggests that close to 80% of victims in West Africa were trafficked for forced labour, which remains the major form of exploitation in the region.

PARTNERSHIP FOR A CAUSE

Our partnership goal is to collaborate with non profit organization(s) or other entities; (individuals, corporations, a group of people/organizations) to raise awareness and funds to combat human trafficking by hosting exclusive private screenings of "Kanaani". Attendees get to fight for a great cause, network, acquire meaningful resources while being amongst the first people in the world to watch the critically acclaimed "Kanaani". Whist we continue to make the rounds at film festivals, these screenings would enable like minded people come together for a common goal which is to fight against human trafficking. There would be opportunities to educate and enlighten attendees on helpful details regarding subject matter. We are interested in working with you to end this global epidemic.
