In honor of World Refugee Day, artists from Houston’s local refugee communities will perform dynamic creative art pieces and describe the role art has in their self-expression.  Attendees will receive information on how to support refugee resettlement and have the chance to meet and speak with resettlement agency staff and community partners.  The event will serve to highlight the creative contributions of refugees here in Houston while raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world.

Come join us for an evening of artistic expression, impactful information, and honoring the creative contributions of our featured artists:

Bojana Ninkovic Petkovic
Timoteo Dominguez Fuentes
Somer Atshan
Master Drummers of Burundi
Zubair Al Awadi “The Lion of Babylon”
Master of Ceremonies - Mustafa Faiz

Our vision is to make World Refugee Day Houston a catalyst for Houstonians to become involved in supporting refugees resettling in our city. Any individual or group can contribute to refugees making Houston feel like home and help them thrive. By investing in refugees we are investing in our community.
